THE TRUTH WHEN IT COMES TO BASEBALL RECRUITING

When it comes down to baseball recruiting in 2024, the one thing that you bank on is that the whole recruiting process has changed and is now favoring the Transfer Portal and is cutting chances for HS players. I am also starting to see the trend with velocity and all the metrical data to not be the determining factors in kids having the chance to play. I have been involved in baseball for a long time as a player, coach and also running one of the most successful recruiting businesses across the United States. www.totalsportsrecruiting.com is the most comprehensive and unique service that there is. Total Consultation is one of the most popular areas. Parents and Clients have unlimited access with me to always discuss what is going in with recruiting, camps, showcases or any part of baseball and the recruiting process.

So, let's get down to the nitty gritty of what coaches talk to me about when conversing by email, phone or face to face. First and foremost, let's get the conception that they want to know every metric on a player that there is. Coaches call or we set up conversation from evaluation and follow ups that I send them on all of my various clients and those whose skill set seem to fit what they are looking for. The first question usually asked is what type of personality do they have on and off the field. The next question is almost always about what the kid is like academically. Scores, GPA, Transcripts. The third question is usually suited to the evaluation and how I see them fitting in baseball, academically and socially. And yes, the next question is about the family. What kind of parents do the kids have and is there a possibility of them being a problem, or if they have already seen problems through social media, scouts, contacts etc.... Yes, parents, you play a major role in how your kids are judged. Are you the one that yells at umpires, coaches or other parents? Are you the parent that is continuously coming to the Dug Out to bring refreshments, talk to kids or even try to talk to coaches? Do you coach your kid from the stands causing your player to look in the stands for your attention or approval? Do you carry your kids equipment or let them speak to you disrespectfully? A very important concern are the social media accounts. They are looked at for any post that is negative in their minds about the coach, team, players or other parents. These things can cost your family and player dearly. Last but not least is is the ultimate question whether or not I think the player can play at that school and become a positive member that will help them to be successful.

So much goes into the total process and so much is taken into account. Right now around 5.4% of all HS players will have the opportunity to play baseball at the Collegiate Level. I would definitely make sure that my family and player are constantly working to check these boxes as well as their skill set boxes, and also their training and work ethic boxes. Any player having the opportunity to play D1 D2 D3 NAIA, JUCO or USCAA should be given a round of applause. I consider you all elite people who have taken advantage of moving onto the next level. 95% of the 18 year olds are getting their pink slips that their competive baseball careers are over and they would give anything to switch spots with you.

I work with clientele from across the United States. Young men and ladies who want the help and consultation for going through their recruiting process the right way. You do not want to find a "Wrong Fit School" where you do not fit in athletically, academically or socially. Unhappiness in any of these areas leads to additional players hitting the Transfer Portal which by the end of May will have probably 6000 college players looking for a new home.

Please feel free to contact me directly for a Free Initial Consultation on exactly what we do at Total Sports Recruiting and why it has been successful. I want to hear about your son or daughter, and 2025-2028 grads, you are on the clock in your recruiting process. We also have programs for those players who enter the Transfer Portal. We look to represent you and consult your way to do this process correctly. We also place players in Summer Collegiate Leagues across the country.
