Lets start with an introduction of who I am, my background, services and the main reason for writing and sharing this Blog. The Process is an in depth look at the Collegiate Athletic Recruiting System. Every individual's recruiting process is unique and different.
A little information about me and my background. My name is Tom Davis and I am a National Recruiting Consultant for an awesome company called Student Athlete World. The Company is run by Tim Ryerson and our unique approach to the College Recruiting Service is that we actually act as Consultants and Guides who establish individual relationships with our clients and educate, guide, give unlimited consultation and market our clients nationwide to schools that are "Right Fit" programs based on a lot of different qualities.
I am a Pittsburgh native who grew up here and was a 4 sport athlete in HS. While being recruited heavily in Football and Baseball, I decided to attend The University of Charleston, WV. I was drafted by the Boston Red Sox and played A and AA baseball for 4 years in their system. A major injury to my arm brought my MLB and athletic career to an end. I came home to Pittsburgh and coached HS Football and Baseball for 3 years before making the decision to go back to UC and get my degree. While there, I coached 4 years for UC and after graduation, returned to Pittsburgh to start my career in Education and also Coaching. For the past 25+ years I have coached Football, Baseball, Basketball and Softball in HS, College and Summer Elite Travel Organizations. For the past 8 years I have worked for, and grown, my client list at Student Athlete World and Coach The Rawlings Tigers - Pittsburgh 18u Showcase Team. I love life right now doing well at what I like to do, which is, Coach and Consult kids on playing and their recruiting process.
In coming Blogs, I would like to share ideas and information on The College Recruiting Process, and also get ideas from my followers and readers as to what information they would like to know, or discuss. In November 2021, recruiting is so so different than it was just a few years ago, let alone in the early 1980's when I went through my own process.
