This is a great discussion for me to write about. Barry Bonds 73 HR's but yes he was on PED's. Aaron Judge the guy who just hit 62 HR's and has not tested positive for any PED's but now is scrutinized because he is so big and strong. I have feelings on this matter. I played in the Drug Era of baseball leading into the Steroid Era. I totally understand what went on in these periods. Professional baseball is the biggest marathon you can fathom. Having played 144 games in a season, yes minor league, but yet understanding everything to keep you competitive for a 162 game season, then maybe playoffs. For those people who think that it is all glory to play that many games and be at your best there is so much more to it than you would believe.
Baseball is a true grind. Playing every day, travelling, family, priorities with the media and many organizations. Getting to the ballpark is a sanctuary. So much behind the scenes stuff. I am writing this short blog to Congratulate Aaron Judge on his 62nd home run which is the American League Record, but even though I believe Barry Bonds and others cheated the game I still recognize him as the Greatest Home Run Hitter to ever play the game. He still has the season and career home run records. It may have an * beside it but the numbers are there.
